IN A HOLDING PATTERN

The way it is now, all we can do is wait.  The President says they did not realize how bad the economy was.  I guess because he spent to much time telling "Joe the Plumber" that he was going to spread the wealth....What wealth?  If Obama had ever had a real job other than a social worker, he would have known how bad the economy really is.  Seven months deep, and no relieff in sight..."Yes we Can" .."Yes we Can."   We are in a very bad situation, and it is getting worse. 

I know, I know, I will get all the usual pejorative emails and comments that will say I am fat, ugly, stupid, a cab driver, a loser, a failure, someone having a bad life, and so forth.  Lets just note that for the record.  Now, that being said, lets stick to the real issues.  Explain to me how an economic theory called Keynesian's, which is outmoded and invented in a less complicated period of history, can possible work in today's dynamic.  I don't think you can. 

The answer is the failure of it to work with this President.  Now, explain to me how massive bureaucratic expenditures will somehow pull us out of debt.  Oh, don't say like the people in my cab the other day that Obama needs to fix the basic underpinnings of the economy before he can work on jobs.  Reason, that is not what he said.  He stated that his number one priority after becoming President was to put people back to work.  That has not happened, only a Kool-Aide drinker would think otherwise.

TAMPA IS UNDERWATER!

It has been raining hard in Tampa for the last ten days.  Many southside streets are underwater. That creates a problem for the cab drivers.  We want to pick up our passangers and take them where they are going, but we can't risk flooding out the engine.  The company will show no mercy in that area.  If you kill and engine, you just bought an engine.  Because of that, I have been going home on many days to avoid the floods in Hyde Park.  "Turn around, don't drown."

WORD ON THE STREET

I got this message from a guy in Plant City that is a Lionel fan. 

"Tim, you have a book contract and a publisher waiting for your revised manuscript. Word on the street is your editor is gonna get steamed if you screw 'em out of a good book. Get 'er done, my man, and you will be rich and famous, and hot chicks will want to have your babies. Also, give Skunky a break, he ain't going nowhere. Get yer book done!"

I am getting yer done.  My hard drive crashed a few weeks ago because of spy-ware and I had to reload windows.  I lost everything.  I am rewriting the book, and it is even better than before.  I have hired a taxi driver named Richard, who has a Masters degree in education to help me with the editing.  It is a process that you cannot put a time goal on.   Truman Capote said that he never finished editing a book, someone would just take it away from him at some point. 

TAX CAB RAW  will be printed out later this week for my publisher to go over.  It will probably need substantial overhaul, but that's the game. 

My phone has been cut off for the last month because of non-payment.  I just got it turned on last night.  My internet will be cut off Monday or Tuesday.  

No problem...remember...."YES WE CAN" ...."VOTE FOR CHANGE"...."600,000 SHOVEL READY JOBS"...."MY FIRST PRIORTY IS TO PUT PEOPLE BACK TO WORK."

THIS IS NUTS

It is summer time and business is bad...very bad.  Most drivers seem to be happy about living in a state of poverty and eating peanuts for dinner. 

At 10 in the morning, the company cuts off drivers who have not paid their daily dues of $97.  There are so many guys on this list that it becomes difficult for the dispatcher to get calls out because everyone that is bidding for calls are on the cut off list. 

What this really means is that these grown up men have less than $100 to their names.  They are bums!

This squirrel hs the right idea, just hang out in the park and beg people like me to give him snacks.  Hell, he doesn't have to pay a lease to do that.

If you can find it your hart to help the starving cab drivers and their starving families, see if you can drop off can goods and non-perishable food items at Cass and Rome.  Please help.  Don't leave this up to someone else.

GAS IS GOING HIGHER

Its amazing that George and Dick can still make the price of gas go up, even after leaving office.  A Mensa is now President, and he can't seem to do anything about it.  Or at least, nobody is calling him onto the carpet as they did during the Bush Years....Just makes me wonder.

MY NEW BEST FRIEND

Considering that all of my best friends in the last two years have died , it has been hard to find new friends.  Tom Castros is one that I can call anytime I want, and he calls me with multiple text messages each day.  Hay, that is a real friend nowadays!

MELISSA SJOSTROM, JORDAN VALDEZ, AND TY TRAYNER A SKUMBAG LAWYER

Ty Trayner and Jordan Valdez should be the Assholes of the year.  Jordan Valdez for killing a homeless women, Melissa Sjostrom, 33, and speeding off without seeking medical help for her, and Ty Trayner for putting up the "Berlin Wall" around her family, so the daughter could skate aided and abetted by the malfeasance of the Tampa Police Department. 

This young women JORDAN VALDEZ never stopped when she hit the women, and at 16 years of age, she did not know that the impact would cause body damage to the car.  It did.  That is how the police found the car casually parked outside her families mansion on Davis Island.

The St. Pete Times printed would it not be a shame if this talented young women would be dogged by Google searches in the future.  You know, the ones that would say that Jordan Valdez killed a women, Jordan Valdez was complicit in the death of a women, that Jordan Valdez waited to tell her parents about it.  That Jordan Valdez has not come forward.  Most of Tampa Hates Jordan Valdez.  That in our opinion, you should not consider her for anything in the future for a lack of morals.  Jordan Valdez is one of the most hated people on Earth.  You know that kind of Google searching.

Her lawyer Ty Trayner used the "buttress defense" which is ethical, according to the Florida Bar "to safeguard the public against abuse of power" by the police.  There was no abuse of power.  They only wanted answers.  Ty Trayner of Tampa Florida is Unethical.  Ty Trayner should be dis-barred at at least given a written reprimand.

The State Attorney should subpoena her parents, give them immunity, and find out just what their daughter said to them the night she came home with front end damage on the car.  Then we will know what happened and put Jordan Valdez in State prison for thirty years where she belongs.

MY COMPUTER WAS DESTROYED BY A VIRUS AND SPYWARE

For years I have not had any form of spy-ware or virus protection.  I only go to safe sites.  I don't serf porn, so I thought everything was alright.  I was wrong.  A spyware called Trojan ate my computer alive.  It hijacked it and I lost total control, and it was destroyed.  Photos, files, software, writings are all gone.

This spyware is loaded on your computer when you go to malicious websites that have the sole purpose of putting this shit on your computer.  There are programmers that work eight hour days like a real job developing this stuff.  You think their talent could be used in a more productive way.

The Geek Squad at Best Buy were able to reload Windows XP.  By doing that, it would erase all of my hard drive...all of it.   I would be starting all over again.  Everything is now gone. 

Get protection.  I will never leave home without now.

FAST FOOD DEALS

One of the things cab drivers look for are deals on food.  We are on the road and eat most of our meals out.  Fortunately, most of the fast food places are lowering their prices in this bad economy to lure more customers.  McDonald's, Taco Bell, Arby's, and Subway with their $5 foot-longs are a deal.  I recommend that everyone take advantage of these restaurants that are offering these deals.  I will not go to Einstein Bagels because they have RAISED the price of the their coffee in this economy.  At a time when Starbucks is closing stores, they think they can raise prices.  Screw them.  They will never get another dime of my money.

LOVE BUGS

Dag gumit'...These pesty little fornicators are at it again.  They don't seem to have much of an instinct for self preservation.  They only seem to want to do the wild-thing as they fly over the interstate.  I had a trip out of county and was on 75, and my windshield got creamed.  This is the way it looked after I tried to was it off at a gas station.  Yuk!   And I believe they will pit your glass if you don't get them off.

My understanding is they were a biological experiment at the University of Florida years ago and the bugs are not even indigenous to the great State of Florida.  Well, the experiment was a success.  I really don't know what purpose they serve like other insects that eat other pest.  Are they found in any other States?  They bloom twice a year around April/May and September.  They will be back.

THE EARLY HOURS AND A PHONE CALL TO OBAMA

With the drop off of business and a record low TAXI call count, I have to find ways to make a living.  I am having a hard time.  I am now having to work in the middle of the night so I can "roll a drunk" to make my lease.  Believe me, if there were jobs available, I would take one. 

It is way to bad that we hired this guy to be President.  Other than covering the asses of Wall Street Bankers and not pulling out of Iraq and letting the Afghanistan situation deteriorate, he ain't done much but go to nice restaurants with his wife.  BFD.  If I was spending the ZILLIONS that he is, I would have put people back to work by now.  But I have real life experience, he does not. 

He has no clue what it is like to have your cell phone cut off from nonpayment...to have your Internet connection cut off...to be evicted from your apartment and have to sleep in your car and live out of a motel..What does he know about that shit?

He wants to put people back to work by Spring of next  year when his stimulus packages kick in...that is way to late.   Hire people now!   Hire them TODAY.   The lady from Ft. Myers that put her arm around you on TV is still homeless and unemployed.  What did you do for her?  

I even called the White House.  I said put Barrack on the phone Tim is calling.  She said, "who is Tim.'  "Just tell him...he knows who I am."   I got thru.

NE'ER-DO-WELL....

Enter one Nolan Canova of "gas station attendant" fame.  A former  man of mirth, now just a believer in myth.

THE PRICE OF GAS AND OBAMA

The price of crude oil is very low.  So why am I paying over 2 bucks a gallon and rising.  Summer is coming and gas will go high.  They used to blame this on Dick and George and their oil friends.  Now, who will they blame it on, surely not Obama. 

They will say it is still because of George Bush.  The man was supposed to be an idiot.  Obama is supposed to be a Mensa.  Again, why am I paying so much for gas?  

Does anyone know of any job that has been created since Obama became President?  The only thing I run into are unemployed people living in "Obamavilles"  the little tent cities that USA Today did a story about.  I know this is not Obama's fault.  The idiot was so stupid even Obama can't make it right.  You are giving me a headache.  

THE NEW HOMELESS

These guys took up camp on stand 23 at the corner of columbus and Dale Mabry a couple of weeks ago.  They are from Orlando and they came to Tampa looking for a job and a better life.  They have found neither, unless you consider sleeping in your car in the K-Mart parking lot a better life.  I don't.  They are pretty good guys; they just need a break.  They are surviving and doing what they have to do.

HOTEL FLORIDAN TO REOPEN

Have you ever gone by this building in downtown Tampa and wondered what happened to it?  There was a time when the Florida Hotel was the tallest building in Florida until 1966.  I was driving by it recently and saw construction crews working on remodeling this hotel.  I don't know if it is going to be a hotel again or condos.  Maybe somebody knows.  I always thought it was a shame that this building had gone fallow for so long.

I noticed the arched windows, the iron railings and bottom floor which will have a coctail lounge, a ballroom and spa.  The owner will duplicate the glory days of this hotel as it was in the roaring 1920's.

Antonios Markopoulos, 67, the owner of the Floridan who is bankrolling the renovation of the 19-story hotel, a high-stakes bet that he can re-create a money-making boutique hotel for tourists and locals who remember its decades of history.

It may be to far to walk to the convention center but it will be real easy for cabs to pull up and take them.  We did that when the Days Inn was downtown and now with the Court Yard by Marriott.

I think this project is awsome and has tremendous potential. 

This is a huge upgrade for Tampa instead of homeless people and rats camping out in the building.

A VISIT TO TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

One of my best plays as a cab driver is to incorporate Tampa International Airport into my daily plan of action.  Between the hours of 9-12 in the morning is when it moves at its best and I have gotten some great rides out of there.  $50-70 is not uncommon.

A RIP-OFF CAB DRIVER

No wonder we have no business anymore. I picked up this couple at the Quality Inn at the corner of Henderson and Dale Mabry. This is cab stand #31. They were going to Tampa International Airport after coming back from a nice cruise on the Carnival Liner that departs every Sunday from Tampa. They told me that believe they had been ripped off by a Yellow cab driver when they were leaving the port.

They said that son was with them on the cruise and he lived in another part of the country. They where going to Southwest Airlines and he was going To Delta. The Yellow cab driver charged them the standard $25 flat rate from downtown. When he dropped them off at Southwest, he charged their son $15 to take him to Delta! That is outrageous.

You see, we do have a minimum fare to take anyone anywhere, but that does not apply in a continuation of 200 feet for a family member. Of course, they did not get the cab number, so there is no way they can report this person. Too bad. Drivers like him are killing our business because they come from a culture where all you do is rip people off.

They said he was a Haitian driver. Figures, they have no soul.

NO CASH, NO CREDIT CARD, NO NOTHING, WHY ARE YOU IN MY CAB?

I picked up this young lady right after the bars closed this morning at 1120 E Kennedy at a swanky condo.  She seemed a little upset(like all women do at this hour), and wanted to go to the condos on Theresa Circle, which are open now.  She said nothing during the entire trip.

When we got there, she did the charade of looking in her purse and could not find any money or credit cards.  She finally found a credit card, but I called it in for a verification and it was declined. Now I am getting pissed.  I tell her she needs to come up with the ten bucks or I'm calling the cops.

She the fact that her boyfriend was sleeping with another "random chic" at the condo downtown was more important than my cab fare.  Oh ya, I tell her to cough up the dough or I call the cops.  She says Im an asshole.  Wow....How original.

She finally called her mother and I did a credit card transaction over the phone and got paid.  She was crying the whole time and her makeup was smearing down her face.

The reason I'm telling you all this is because it was a scam from the word go and that women are way to emotional to be leaders in our society.

THE WOODS, THE NRA, THE BUCCANEERS

They say that when you are in the woods you should wear something optic orange in case you run into hunters.  You don't want to get shot by drunk hunters or those on acid. 

I wear one of my old Tampa Bay Buccaneer hats.  This one is many that I have in a collection.  Its to bad some hunters will shoot at anything moving. 

The NRA is the biggest proponent of safe and responsible gun use in America.  They do not support wholesale slaughter of people.  I wear the orange hat because there may be non-NRA members out there with guns.

ANIMALS NEED WATER

The St. Pete Times had an article today of how Animals invade Tampa in search of water during droughtThey are getting close to man.  A coyote ate a Pomeranian in East Lake. A fox bit a woman in Citrus Park. A wild hog invaded a back yard in St. Petersburg.

That has been my underlying theory in my search for the elusive Florida Skunk Ape or Bigfoot.  I have trekked into unexplored areas north of the Hillsborough River off of hwy 301 and found areas with water untraveled by humans which would be a prime source of water for secretive beast.  One of my comments on You-Tube said it looked like I had found a prehistoric land near Tampa.  You can view Green River Swamp Bigfoot of how I found and documented this area.

This area is a tributary called Trout Creek in North Hillsborough County and the algae bloom shows not many canoes or kayaks come this way.  This would be a perfect "watering hole" for something that did not want anyone to find his ass. You can hear my theory and how I am closing in on my search at this You-Tube video.  Sorry St. Pete Times, I recorded this video on You-Tube over a month ago about the drought in Tampa and its effects on large mammals.  I was ahead of the curve. HOW OPEN MINDED ARE YOU?

Serious.  Are you open minded to the prospect of an advance life form previously unknown that my be living in North America and has found its way into Florida?  There is a body of evidence that is now supporting this theory.  

Michael Crichton.in his novel Congo speculated on what would be the circumstances of man encountering a previously unknown intelligent primate that may have branched off of our evolutionary tree. I am not talking about the movie which was loosely based on the novel, but his book which was more interesting.

The research I have done is leading me to this conclusion that there is more out there then what we know.  In the North East part of Hillsborough County I have found "Forest Anomalies" that the team Bigfoot Research Field Investigators have found throughout the country.  It is beleived that these structures are territorial markers used by Sasquatch to mark or show a pathway thru the forest.

The image above is of a dead 50 foot tree that has been placed up against a live tree and lodged into the fork of the tree. This video I posted on You-Tube shows many such structures and even what I believe is a burial mound.  When I tried to dig it up, I found out it was entombed in a solid formation of a wood floor.  I could not get into it!
