Nude Photo Shoot In Arizona!

On Friday I will be leaving for Arizona. The reason I am leaving is to go on a photo shoot. The arrangements of this shoot and the logistics involved have been all consuming. That is why I have been lax on posting this month.

The shoot is a freelance project for Playboy Special Edition.

The shoot has attracted the best glamour photographers and models going.

There are 2 locations: The old Goldwater mines (now called Vulture mine). The mine is actually an old town and many of the old buildings are still intact and protected by state preservation law. The other location is what is called Cowtown. This is an old west town with a salon, jail and all the buildings still there. The location has been used by many motion picture companies. We have leased the property to ensure complete privacy. And of course, all of these sites have a backdrop of the mountains and desert landscape.

I hope to come away with fantastic glamour and artistic nude shots. I also hope to be published after the project. There is a lot riding on this. Mega money has been spent.

I am excited because it could launch me back into the professional ranks again.

It also allows me to spend several days with great pro photographers and discuss theory and pick each others brains about style and technique.

There are 2 camps on this issue. The high tech guys. These guys spend a lot of time and money trying to control the environment and use scrims, blockers, barn doors and anything they can do outdoors to influence the light conditions. The minimalist: Me. We just use a camera and work with the direction of light and not try to fight it. If I need a reflector, I could use cardboard. The results I get are stunning and I’ll compare them to the guys who have knocked themselves out.

It should be a great time. Everyone is staying at the same resort in Phoenix and we will be going to a Rock/Blues concert Saturday night.

I can’t wait.

I have spent thousands on new equipment, digital SLR cameras, lenses, strobes and even the cases to carry all this stuff into the desert with. Being a minimalist is not cheap. Oh, did I mention the modeling fees. These beautiful models don’t pose nude for nothing.

I will post every day and keep you up to date. I won’t put anything nude on the blog but I will provide a link where you can find it.

This is a tough assignment but someone has to do it.

Then it’s back to Tampa and work.
