If he had a tag with a phone number on it, I could have called his mommy or daddy and let them know I had found him. Sorry, but I had to let him go his way when my fare came out. She(my fare) said she had never seen this cute little guy either. I sure hope he found his was home, for I would have taken him to my apartment if only I could have a dog where I live. The lesson here is to tag your dogs because I see them all the time running down sidewalks and acting like a dog. They love it until they realize they are lost. Then someone else will take them in, and you will never see your dog again. I saw this lost dog today. I think he was a "corgy." I see lost dogs all the time. I think they escape out of peoples houses or dig their way under a fence. This guy was cute, and very friendly. I was looking for an address in South Tampa when I spotted this little guy. He came up to the cab and looked at me. I opened the door and he jumped up and was waging his tail like mad. I noticed two things, he was very muscular, and he had no tags.

Somebody lost their place, they couldn't take him with them so they took his tags off and hoped someone like you would adopt him. Happens all the time. They don't want to take him to jail (the pound), because if he's not adopted in a certain number of days he probably gets killed to make room for another stray. Sad isn't it.
I got my dog from a referral site. Instead of taking the dog to jail, you post a photo and description and the potential new owner contacts you directly.
